Our nurse name tags are designed for healthcare environments where staff need to be clearly identified by patients, families and colleagues throughout every shift. Magnetic backs work with scrubs and uniforms without pins, so there are no holes in your workplace clothing and no sharp points near patients during close contact care. Full colour printing includes nurse name, role, ward and hospital logo on each badge.
We supply nurse name tags in several formats to suit different hospital and clinic setups. Our plastic PET staff badges in 75mm x 27mm are the most common choice for nursing staff. They are printed edge to edge with your details and come in matt or gloss finish. For a more durable option that handles daily sanitising without the print wearing off, our resin dome badges have a clear epoxy layer over the printed surface that resists wiping, scratching and general ward wear.
Attachment matters in clinical settings. Most nurses prefer magnetic backs because they grip through scrub fabric securely without creating holes that weaken the material over wash cycles. Pin and clip backs are also available if your facility requires a specific attachment type or if staff wear thicker outerwear where magnets may not hold as firmly. You can mix attachment types within the same order so different departments get what works for them.
If your hospital has a DIY badge system where HR prints inserts for new starters in house, our metallic frame name tags in black, gold and silver accept paper inserts printed on any office printer. This is a practical option for hospitals with frequent staff rotation where ordering individually printed badges each time is not realistic.
For nurses who carry access cards alongside their name tag, pair the badge with a retractable badge reel clipped to the waistband of your scrubs. The reel extends to swipe at door readers and retracts back without having to unclip anything. If your facility uses neck worn identification, our safety breakaway lanyards release under pressure, which is important for clinical staff working with confused or agitated patients.
We also supply name tags for the wider healthcare team. Our medical name badges for doctors and allied health staff use the same formats and print options, and our visitor name tags provide temporary identification for contractors and family members on the ward.
Orders start from low quantities so even small clinics and GP practices can order without bulk commitments. Call us on 1300 905 421 or get in touch to discuss your requirements or request a sample.
What attachment works best for nurse name tags on scrubs?
Magnetic backs are the most popular choice for nurses because they grip through scrub fabric without making holes. The rare earth magnets hold firmly through cotton and polyester blends up to about 3mm thick, which covers standard scrub tops and tunics. Pin backs are available as an alternative if your hospital policy requires them, but most nursing staff prefer magnets because scrubs go through frequent hot washes and pin holes weaken the fabric over time.
Can I include my role and ward on the badge?
Yes. Each nurse name tag is printed individually with whatever details you need. Most hospitals include the nurse’s first name, surname, role title (RN, EN, CNS, midwife, etc.), ward or department name and the hospital logo. Full colour printing means your facility branding appears exactly as it does on other internal materials.
How do I order badges for a large nursing team?
Send us a spreadsheet with each staff member’s name, role and department and we lay out every badge individually. We send you a proof sheet for approval before printing. Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 business days from approval. For urgent onboarding, contact us about rush production or consider our DIY staff name tags which ship same day and let you print inserts on site.
Are these badges safe to wear in clinical environments?
Yes. The badges are made from smooth, non porous PET plastic or epoxy resin that can be wiped clean with standard hospital grade disinfectant wipes. There are no crevices or fabric surfaces that harbour bacteria. Magnetic backs sit flat against clothing and do not catch on equipment or bed rails during patient care. Note that staff with pacemakers or implantable cardiac devices should use pin or clip attachment instead of magnetic backs.
